The Dazzle is pretty cool 8/10, the name is misleading though…..
The Daazle DvD recorder HD features solid composite and S-Video capturing directly to your PC via USB. However this leads into the first and major grievance for gamers, this device has no pass through, in the dazzles defense it does state this on the packaging due to the fact it has a clear shell showing the device in full.
Speaking of funny advertising, notice the “HD” in the title? Well this doesn’t really mean what you think it means, the device does no up-scaling, nor does it support HD inputs. Why is it there for? The only explanation I could think of is because the device comes bundled with Pinnical Studio “HD”. Well played Pinnical, well played….
Capture quality is on par with more expensive devices that support composite (Happague HD PVR). The software is fairly straight forward, however did have some funny quirks, the main one was not detecting if there was a video input.
Decent build quality, however this is let down by sloppy software. For the price there are better options on the market more geared towards gamer’s.
